The Burley Tribe: May 2012

Our last week and a half has been very eventful and filled with family and friends. On May 9th, Nick graduated from TBS. TBS is a 6 month school at Quantico with a mission to:

Train and educate newly commissioned or appointed officers in the high standards of professional knowledge, esprit-de-corps, and leadership required to prepare them for duty as company grade officers in the operating forces, with particular emphasis on the duties, responsibilities and war-fighting skills required of a rifle platoon commander.

I can't believe it's over. It seems like just yesterday we were moving into our townhouse and I was dreading the long days and many nights alone. I am so proud of all nick's accomplishments as a result of how hard he has worked these past 6 months. After this, I know we can get through anything together and I am so thankful for Nick's ability to separate work from home and still make time for me, no matter how busy he is.

Nick's mom, grandma, step dad and family friends (the Campbell's) came for graduation. Nick's family was here a few days before and after graduation, so we were able to spend a lot of time with them and do some sight seeing on our side of the country :) We visited Gettysburg, downtown DC, Mount Vernon, Ford's Theater, Arlington National Cemetery, and spent Mother's Day in Old Town Alexandria. We all got to participate in Family Day on base before graduation. The most exciting part was riding on an AAV. I have to give a little shout out to Grandma for doing EVERYTHING. She was amazing the entire trip and probably on of the only grandmas who rode the AAV :).

We had such a great time with everybody and really appreciate all the love and support.
