Free Babes Handmade GIVEAWAY

If you know me, you know that I LOVE to put Eloise in headbands and bows. I also love to support handmade shops and small businesses. There's something so fulfilling to me when I make purchases from handmade shops; somebody with a creative mind is able to live out their dream and support their families.

To celebrate Eloise's 6 month birthday, we were lucky enough to team up with a super cute bow shop to give one of our followers a $50 credit for bows
Ran by a sweet mama named Hillary, Free Babes Handmade embraces the independent, curious, adventurous souls of the world. Hillary believes our little ones should be free to discover their spirit and individuality, and created Free Babes with that vision.  This is our goal with Eloise everyday.

// Free Babes Handmade bows are made from high quality Liberty of London prints and other cotton fabrics that compliment the colors found in nature all around us and are the perfect accessory to everyday adventure \\

We LOVE love love these headbands. From the packaging to the colors of the bows, everything is so cute. I tend to pick simple headbands for Eloise, so when I discovered Free Babes I was really excited. There are so many different styles, colors and prints to choose from to fit your little one's personality and style. Since Eloise doesn't have a lot of hair, we always buy the headbands made out of nylon so they fit her for as long as we want. Free Babes also has bows on alligator clips for little ones with more hair.

You guys! $50 can get you so many bows...
head over to my instagram @theburleytribe for a chance to win a $50 shop credit to Free Babes! Remember to tag your mama friends too!

Good Luck!

Eloise is 6 months old!

It's so hard to wrap my head around the fact that we've had Eloise in our lives for half of a year! When I say it out loud, it sounds like such a long time. Looking back, I don't know where those 6 months went because it honestly feels more like 2-3. She has taught me so much about being a mama, and has challenged me in so many ways already. It's so much fun to watch her grow and develop, and I can never repay Nick for allowing me the opportunity to be a stay at home mom. I do have moments where I envy the moms who work and provide for their family financially (the extra money would be nice sometimes), but I truly am so thankful and I know I'm so lucky that I get to be here with Eloise all day everyday.

We've been keeping busy the past couple of months. Eloise and I run with a group called Stroller Warriors every Wednesday and Friday. She loves being in her BOB stroller, and it's nice to get out and interact with adult humans a couple times a week. I've made some really great friends through the group already! I signed up for a half marathon in Disneyland in September, and Nick has been busy with volunteering with Search and Rescue. Eloise had a day with Nick this past weekend so I could visit one of my best friends who just had her 2nd baby girl, and I got my hair done! I cut it all off, and I love it. AND we have visitors every other weekend until May, so we have a lot of fun times and memories to look forward to.

At 6 months, Eloise:
Is wearing 6 month clothes, and can fit into some 6-9 month. Still in size 3 diapers.
↠Weighs 17.5 pounds (77%) and is 27 inches (95%)
Loves scratching textures. The couch, dirt, her clothes, blankets... She needs to touch everything
Reaches for us when she wants to be held
Grabs Lucy's lips and ears
↠Can't sleep without a lovie (unstuffed stuffed animal)
Is eating pureed foods and loving it (I'm making all her food and plan to do a blog post about it soon!)
↠Is cutting a tooth!
↠Is sitting up for about 10 seconds at a time
Is learning her sippy cup
Loves to be lifted up in the air or tipped upside down
↠Loves to stand up
↠Hates when we take off or put on her clothes
Officially rolled over in front of both me and Nick
Pushes herself backwards during tummy time to move around (does this count as crawling?!)
↠Is sleeping 6 hour stretches at night, and can self soothe thanks to this book

Oils

I know...I know... Essential Oils are on the rise for trendy things to use right now, and it seems like everybody is trying to sell something these days. But I wanted to share my personal experience, and want you to know that I'm not trying to sell you on oils or pressure you to purchase any. I just want to share my experience so far and it's only been a month.

Essential Oils are the "lifeblood" of plants, herbs, fruits and vegetables. They are basically a super concentrated, pure form of the plant is was extracted from. You can diffuse, ingest or apply them topically to experience the benefits they offer. Most of the oils are very versatile and can help in so many different ways in your life. For example, I use lemon EO in my water, for cleaning, and for getting grease off pots and pans.

I had been researching Essential Oils for a while and finally picked to buy from Young Living. Young Living appealed to me in so many ways, but mostly because of their "seed to seal" promise:

"We believe that you deserve products that are genuine, free of synthetic chemicals, and of unmatched purity. Seed to Seal® is both a promise to you and a reflection of our sense of global stewardship. Through each step of our production process on both our own and partner farms, we use the most exacting standards possible to make our products, your life, and the earth better. Only one company can make the Seed to Seal promise. Only Young Living."

You can read more about it here on their website. Their farms are actually available for the public to go tour, which is pretty cool to me that they are so open. I don't think we can say that about many companies, unfortunately.

"This unique approach sets us apart. We oversee every step of production to ensure that you get pure essential oils and products you won’t find anywhere else."

My goal with Essential Oils was to incorporate them in my everyday life in a way that would help us be healthier. I made my own household cleaners and got rid of most of the cleaning products in my home. The best part: all I used was water, vinegar and the EO thieves. It smells amazing, I only used a few drops so I know the bottle I have will last, AND it has disinfectant properties so I know my home is getting cleaned just as well as it did when I used bleach and lysol.

I think my favorite part is trying new things with a really fun community. I am a part of a community of oilers who are supportive, informative and helpful: Red Creek Essentials. I would love for you to visit young living's website to learn more about the wonderful company I am involved with, and visit our support website here.
